Screenshot OCR FAQ

Does it work with Windows Snipping Tool?
SnapOCR replaces the need for Snipping Tool. Instead of screenshot-then-upload, you press one hotkey and get text directly. But if you already have a screenshot from Snipping Tool, you can upload it to our online tool above.
Does it work on dark mode UIs?
Yes! The app auto-detects dark backgrounds (white text on dark) and inverts the image before OCR processing. No manual adjustment needed.
Can I capture from a specific monitor in a multi-monitor setup?
Absolutely. The overlay spans all monitors. Just drag your selection on whichever screen has the text you need. Per-Monitor V2 DPI awareness ensures pixel-perfect captures on mixed DPI setups.
How does it handle small text?
The app auto-upscales small captures (up to 4x) before OCR. It also applies sharpening and contrast enhancement specifically designed for small font text recognition.
Will it conflict with other screenshot tools?
The hotkey (Ctrl+Shift+S) may conflict with some apps. If registration fails, the app notifies you — just use the Capture button instead. You can close other screenshot tools to free the hotkey.
